Carbures accelerates with two new automotive technology contracts in Mexico

Just two weeks ago we announced a new Civil Works contract in Mexico for 1.1 million; this week, Carbures Mobility continues consolidating its position in the Mexican market with the signing of two new automotive technology contracts of a total of 4.3 million of euros. The customers are two important Tier 1 that operate in the NAFTA zone, where they manufacture thousands of parts for the main car brands.

The first of the agreements, which has a value of 1.6 million euros, is the result of the trust placed by this Tier 1 customer in Carbures Mobility, in its division of Machinery, of technology for the automotive sector. This new assignment consists of the development of the project for the design and manufacture of a production line and testing of electric power steering. A product that, although already used in light passenger vehicles, will be a new milestone in the heavy vehicle market.

The second contract that the Company has signed with another Tier 1 global client, for 2.7 million euros is the fifteenth line of these characteristics supplied to plants in Poland, United States, Mexico, and China. The project includes the design and manufacture of a semiautomatic assembly line and calibration process and automated test of electric power steering for passenger vehicles. The production line will be installed in the Tier 1 plant in Queretaro, a fact that is differentiated from other suppliers by offering this type of project as Carbures develops the turnkey project, starting with mechanical design, followed by manufacturing, assembly, and programming, and ending with the delivery of the line ready for entry into production to meet the demand specified by the customer.

With these new contracts, the division of Mobility, which is part of the Machinery area, and which designs and manufactures technology for the automotive sector, which ended 2017 with a positive recurring EBITDA of 2.5 million euros, add contracts for 23.9 million in the first half of 2018. Carbures thus maintains the path of growth both in the sale of high-tech production lines, as well as the production and manufacture of parts and structures in composite materials.
