These emergency devices are formed by a manual-opening door and a semiautomatic staircase, allowing a comfortable and safe exit for travellers from the inside of the train to the track. Moreover, CAF has accomplished its first delivery of AS-2014 cars to Santiago de Chile´s Metro, which will run through new 3 and 6 Metro lines.
These trains have a front evacuation system which was designed and manufactured by Carbures, that produces 74 units of Driverless Detrainment Emergency Doors. This innovative equipment will allow greater security for travellers. In addition, Carbures has designed seven lifts for disabled people for the tram at Bahia de Cadiz (Spain).
This line runs across urban and interurban areas and requires a two-height train. All these projects have been designed by Carbures’s engineers in Sant Cugat (Barcelona) and have been manufactured in Carbures’s site at El Burgo de Osma (Soria). These projects have been exhibited in the world's largest railway event, called Innotrans, in Berlin last week. Carbures has shown one Driverless Emergency Detraintment Door, which CAF installs in driving cabs of Santiago de Chile´s Metro; one Driver Emergency Detrainment Door, one Side Emergency Detrainment Door for Donostia and Euskotren´s Metro driving cabs; lifts for disabled people that the Company manufactures in order to access trains from the platform; and two doors made of composites.
On the occasion of this professional event, Carbures has held meetings with several train manufacturers such as ALSTOM, BOMBARDIER and SIEMENS, and also with commercial agents from Kazakhstan, India and Poland. The Company is more and more present in the manufacture and design of new materials that make means of transport safer.
