This week, in Barcelona, has taken place the 17th Automotive Conference has taken place. This is the most important one in Spain. It is organized by the prestigious IESE Business School and KPMG Spain. Presidents, top executives,leaders of companies and institutions that settle the trend of the sector have met for two days for this event.
En esta semana se ha celebrado en Barcelona el XVII Encuentro del sector de Automoción, el más importante de España. Organizado por la IESE Business School y KPMG, durante dos días se han reunido los directivos, empresas e instituciones que marcan la dirección y la tendencia del sector.
CARBURES was invited to participate in a panel of speakers. We were represented by our Executive VP Jose Maria Tarrago. The topic was how "techtonical movements" (global changes of different kinds in automotive sector) are effecting the companies. Tarrago spoke about the work Carbures is developing with the in regards to the development of the use of carbon fiber in high value vehicles, and other lines of research that Carbures is working on. Revolutionary work is the automation of manufacturing of carbon fiber structures for automotive sector. Related with to this, CARBURES presented the first stage of the creation of a production center for automotive in El Burgo de Osma (Soria, Spain) last week. The whole project requires an investment of 12 million euros.
CARBURES fue invitado a participar en una mesa redonda a la que acudió nuestro Vicepresidente Ejecutivo José María Tarragó. El tema era cómo los "movimientos tectónicos" (cambios globales de distinto tipo en el sector de automoción) afectaban a nuestras empresas. Tarragó habló de la labor que Carbures estaba haciendo con la incorporación de la fibra de carbono a vehículos de alta gama, y otras líneas de investigación que se estaban llevando a cabo. La revolución en la que estamos trabajando es la automatización de la fabricación de piezas de fibra de carbono para este sector. En esta línea, la semana pasada CARBURES presentó en El Burgo de Osma (Soria) la primera fase de la creación de una planta de producción de automoción, con una inversión del proyecto global de 12 millones de euros.
