Our CEO, Rafael Contreras, has recently made some insightful reflections as a consequence of the recent and important awards that CARBURES has received as recognition for its innovative activity. We want to share them with all our community.
AWARDS, RECOGNITIONS (CARBURES AWARD III) VERSUS REAL ECONOMY
¨It is unpleasant or it is not significant to have your work recognized”
This statement, regardless of not being true, it is enormously unfair.
IT IS NOT TRUE because a recognition of a work done, and moreover, if it is publicly done, has a strong impact even for the most emotionally-spartan human being.
IT IS TREMENDOUSLY UNFAIR because there are many people working hard like beasts and, unfortunately in these times, they do not achieve the same results, therefore it is a lack of respect for them complaining about a recognition.
I guess all of you are now asking yourself what is this reflection about. These are my reasons:
As you know, CARBURES has been awarded by The European Commission for its business internalization strategy in the first edition of the European Small and Mid-Cap Awards 2013 hold in the night of Tuesday 19th in Brussels. CARBURES was awarded as the “Most internationally-minded newcomer” among 31 listed companies coming from the ten main European Stock Markets, 16 of them preselected in a previous round. As you could read on a previous post (Carbures Award I).
As you also know, last Monday 25th CARBURES GROUP had the honor of being awarded with the Social Involvement in the Andalusian Public Universities Award, in its 5th edition, an award that recognizes the effort CARBURES has made in order to boost cooperation and knowledge transference from University to Society, promoting the entrepreneurial culture in the university environment. As you could read in a recent post (Carbures Award II).
Yesterday, as you do not know, 2th of December, CARBURES has been awarded with the Prize for Invention and Research in Applied Chemistry ¨Professor Martinez Moreno¨, given by the University of Seville and García Cabrerizo Foundation which was handed in the CSIC (Top Spanish Center of Scientific Research), together with the medals to innovation 2013 ( Carbures Award III).
In the first award mentioned above, in the Albert Hall of Brussels, we enjoyed the presence of the General Manager for SME business in the European Commission. In his speech, pretty brilliant by the way, he stated, when explaining his roll, that he was dedicated to ¨real economy¨, that is the small and medium company world, the absolute protagonist of job creation in our European scenario. He clearly differentiated it from the financial economy, and this fact was more meritorious because of the forum in which this statement was pronounced.

Well, I do not want to lose the path, and the theme is that as I tried to convey just before, I want to show my gratitude on behalf of CARBURES and their stakeholders for the awards and recognitions received. But this fact does not make us lose concentration on the real economy that this company is facing day in, day out. This means product quality, compliance with work orders, cost optimization and the application of technology for the generation of new competitive advantages.THIS IS OUR REAL ECONOMY, our customers' satisfaction, our employees' pride of being part of this company and the real added value given to our shareholders. All these factors will become into richness for our environment.
Thank you for the recognitions, nonetheless, CARBURES must be focused on its duty, which is to get its planned roadmap accomplished. Our mission is to be one of the main technological companies in the world.
