BMW invites Carbures to its hub of carbon fiber

BMW invited Carbures to visit the facilities of Landshut, the automotive hub of carbon fiber located in Dingolfing, Germany. It is a cutting-edge automotive plant, where takes place the manufacturing process of carbon fiber for both BMW electric car, the i3 and i8, and the sports car of the M models.

During the visit, BMW explained the need in the sector of suppliers of carbon fiber parts for cars with manufacturing capacity in long series.

And there it is Carbures’ major advantage in the industry thanks to its patented technology. BMW and Carbures are working on quoting manufacturing processes of specific parts.

BMW and Carbures share a vision: the need to lighten the structure of cars to improve its energy efficiency ratios and thus comply with the legislation on emissions. Both manufacturers are aware that carbon is the lighter material which can be used in the body, not only without compromising security but also improving it (carbon fiber is four times lighter and 3.5 times stronger than steel). After much work, the experts at BMW have automated the process of producing carbon fiber parts in long series, competitively adjusting costs and with the highest quality.

Carbures accelerates the process of technological development to lead the pending revolution in the automotive industry: the manufacture of cars with carbon fiber.
