Carbures participates in the 1st Meeting of Prototypes Technology in SEAT

SEAT relies on Carbures. Together they could drive into the automotive future. The car manufacturer, which belongs to the Volkswagen Group, has invited Carbures to the I Meeting of Technology for Prototypes as a supplier of carbon fiber parts for the automotive industry.

Carbures has manufactured a wide range of car parts for some of SEAT’s prototype vehicles, such as those used for road tests during summer and winter, or Data Control Models (DKM).

The car parts that Carbures has manufactured for SEAT’s Prototypes Centre of Development (CPD), are the best tool to ensure, not only the quality of vehicles, but also the maximum cost reduction associated with the manufacturing process. Incorporating carbon fiber parts in regular cars is a manufacturing trend that is speeding up within the industry in response to the benefits it means for vehicles.Replacing metal with carbon fiber parts reduces the car weight and provides greater security for occupants, as it is much stronger and impact resistant.

Manufacturing parts for prototypes launched by brands is, within the automotive industry, the previous step for incorporating those pieces to the ordinary models, the ones you can see on the road, and therefore, for the process of manufacturing such parts in long series.

The CPD is located in the heart of the SEAT plant at Martorell (Barcelona, Spain) and represents the launch of the innovative processes for car manufacturing with carbon fiber, which has a great potential within the Volkswagen Group. Carbures joins forces with SEAT and the Volkswagen Group towards making more efficient, lighter and stronger cars.
