CARBURES ACQUIRES COMPOSYSTEM / CARBURES ADQUIERE COMPOSYSTEM

La adquisición de la compañía Composystem por parte de CARBURES , que la posiciona estratégicamente en el mercado francés, principal sede de Airbus, ha sido recogida una vez más por la prensa económica, desde donde compartimos el artículo publicado en El Economista.

The acquisition of the company Composystem by CARBURES, which strategically positions itself in the French market, main location of Airbus, has been published once again by the economical media, and next we share the article crafted by the newspaper El Economista.

CARBURES ACQUIRES ITS MAIN CARBON FIBER COMPETITOR

The group specialized in composites grows in the aeronautical sector, by entering in the French market with this operation.

CARBURES, the Andalusian group listed on the Spanish Alternative Stock Market (MAB),  specialized in the manufacturing of carbon fiber parts for aeronautical, automotive and construction industry, has undertaken the third acquisition this year. This is its main competitor in the field of composite production for the aeronautical sector, Composystem, located in Toledo (Spain) , an operation in which the company has been working for several months. Doubts about the succession in the family business have facilitated an outlet through this acquisition, which amount has not been disclosed.

With this operation, the firm that has Rafael Contreras as CEO , adds 12 million in turnover this year, a figure to be accumulated to the 22 million that CARBURES foresees for the end of this exercise. In total, 34 million in expected revenue from the nearly five million in 2012.

More important than the turnover figures is getting access to a key market as is the French one, where the headquarters of Airbus are located. This is because Composystem is a key supplier for Aerolia, a french aeronautical giant with 3,400 employees and a global presence as a TIER-1 supplier to major manufacturers.

Complementarity

The acquired company has firm orders for the manufacturing of parts for, among others, the aircraft A-320, A-350 and A-380. Anyway, CARBURES is already working directly or indirectly for the last two Airbus programs.

Contreras, CEO of CARBURES, stated yesterday: " Composystem and CARBURES show high complementarity. Composystem provides a broad project portfolio, a production plant and all the certificates and approvals required by the demanding aeronautical sector, whilst CARBURES brings all their technology, know-how and larger production capacity , both nationally and internationally to meet the product demand for the aeronautical industry."

CARBURES acquired this year the aeronautical engineering MDU, located in Seville (Spain), for 11 million euros, and the division of railway engineering of MP Group, also based on Seville. Furthermore, CARBURES has raised 20 million euros from the Alternative Stock Market this year.
